Model United Nations Program (MUN) at KAC

A civic engagement program for middle and high school students in the County of Los Angeles is KAC Model United Nations (MUN). Additionally, students engage in and recreate UN meetings at conferences around the nation. Picture this: students taking on the roles of UN delegates, representing countries from all over the globe and tackling many world issues, both past and present. To gear up for these conferences, these students roll up their sleeves, dig deep into research, and craft speeches to present in front of their committees.

The KAC MUN program is all about getting these young guns in on the action. They’re particularly focused on involving inner-city kids in the big picture, including geopolitics, international relations, and the nittygritty of national and international politics. Simultaneously, they’re honing some real-life skills. Furthermore, this KAC MUN gig is the longest-running show in town for the Korean-American community. Now, what’s in it for the participants, you ask? Prepare for a boost in their writing chops, an enhanced public speaking game, sharpened critical thinking skills, and a heightened leadership swagger. It’s a real all-rounder! Moreover, Audrey Jang, ’19, from Pomona College, shares her experience in “The Yellow Butterfly Effect” (The Korea Daily), highlighting the impact of her NCLC 2016 involvement. Additionally, we would also like to extend our gratitude to Mr. Keith Kim, our kind sponsor, for his ongoing support of the National College Leadership Conference.”
